The bachelor project deals with the begin of flooding and sustainable use of the currently active open pit mine Cottbus-Nord. The filling should be completed within ten years starting 2018, so that with the construction of a port facility included Hotel and adjacent residential development is started.
site plan
The theme of the design is the development of a freeform, which embeds the harbor in the landscape and the functions of those with which the adjacent hotel connects so that, among other things, the visitors of the port can enter parts of the hotel without to disturb the guests, as well as to allow direct connection to the port areas. To achieve that, the difference in height was used, which results from the course of the main road down to the shore area and is about three meters. On the shore one can find all necessary berths for boats and yachts, the port functions, as well as various smaller uses, such as boat and bicycle rental, sailing and surfing school, bar, cafe and restaurant in the center.
The harbor area opens to the north and accommodates 200 berths.

The design complies with the loose shape, which is found in the nature.
The sweep of the pier, which borders the dock, evolves from an access road of the city, which shall make the route way from cottbus city into the verdancy easy.
The functions, which should be sheltered at a port, are located along the promenade. From a public café to the point of a private facility, as a sailing school, the facilities arrange themselfes in a northward direction. Flush with a surfbase close to a beach construed to the surfing in the north of the site. Here the area can be made accessible by foot or by bicycle via the planned parkway.
In the area of the harbour integrates the public zone of the hotel which is located above. The restaurant of the hotel is open to the public and in the further architrave block are shops, which are hireable, and the harbour master as well as the sanitations for the voyagers with a boat which are located in the back of the hotel basement.
On the ground floor of the hotel the meeting rooms plus the spa are arranged. The meeting rooms are southward in order that a short way to the downstairs restaurant can be ensured. The access road, to launch a boat, serves as gateway for a car into the meeting rooms, which can be devided in five small or three large rooms. A lounge is attributed to the meeting rooms, which is located behind the reception and can be added to the foyer. The spa is located in the north, to, if desired, expand the spa outwards, since there begins the green area of the parkway. This spa is attainable by a separete elevator from the upper floors, to escape the public eye of the people down in the lobby.
